We have the normal bike nights this week and during the weekend there are two events, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. The Saturday ride is the "Ride for Life" and on Sunday there is the "Bikers for Babies". Glendale, Ca -- Love Ride 26, slated for October 25, 2009, has been canceled. The announcement was made by Love Ride founder Oliver Shokouh, who cited the weak economy as the reason for the event's cancellation.
In place of the usual event, Glendale Harley, Home of the Love Ride, is sponsoring an autograph session with Peter Fonda and free movie screening, commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Fonda's starring role in "Easy Rider." The event will take place at the dealership (3717 San Fernando Rd. in Glendale) Friday, October 23rd from 4-10pm. Glendale Harley will also be selling Love Ride memorabilia (Love Rides 1-26) on Saturday, October 24th from 9am-4pm and Sunday, October 25th from 6am-2pm. The hope is to recoup some of the costs already incurred this year by the Love Ride Foundation. The dealership will also have representatives on hand to answer any questions.
Donations to benefit our Love Ride beneficiaries are still being accepted and are tax deductible. The top ten fund-raising prizes featured in the Love Ride 26 brochure will still be awarded (excluding opportunity tickets).
If you have already registered for Love Ride 26, you will receive a Love Ride 26 ride pin and a Love Ride 26 patch. In addition, you will also receive a Love Ride 26 t-shirt. It's our way of saying thank you for this year's support. All incentive prizes will be available for pick-up at Glendale Harley on Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th.

13th Annual Desert Thunder
The 13th Annual Desert Thunder starts on Friday out at Primm, Nevada. There will Entertainment, a Poker Run, Bike Games plus many more activities.
B.A.C.A. Patch Party
Bikers against Child Abuse is throwing their Patch party at Sam's Town. There will be a Meet-n-Greet, Live Band and a Poker Run on Sunday.
Ride for Hope Poker Run
The event will begin with a complimentary breakfast at a Sierra Gold located at 1341 W. Warm Springs Rd, at 8 a.m. Riders will collect a card at each stop, and after three additional stops at PT's Tavern and Sierra Gold, the riders will ride to the final location, the Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Casino. A complimentary BBQ lunch will be served inside the event center where the last card will be collected by the riders, the winners will be announced, and cash and prizes will be given away.
Annual October Thunder Poker Run
The Eldorado Casino and the Jokers Wild Casino present the October Thunder Annual Poker Run 2009. Ride starts at the Eldorado Casino from 10am - 12pm. Registration, you will receive packets, poker tally sheet, instructions and maps, coffee and donuts provided by Dunkin' Donuts.
B.I.G. Sin City Gangster Run
B.I.G. Sin City Gangster Run starts on Sunday at Arlen Ness. Sign-up is from 8am-10am with the last Bike out 10:30am.
11th Annual P.O.R.K. Charity Run
This is the 11th running of the Police officers Riding for Kids Charity run. The event starts on Sunday at the Mountain View Mortgage Co. on 6585 High Street, Las Vegas, NV 89113 on the corner of Durango off of the 215 South.
Phillip D. Easley II Memorial Poker Run
The Phillip D. Easley II Memorial Poker Run starts at 2pm at the Half Shell located at 30 E. Horizon Ridge Pkwy.
