Boobies desperately need your help and we are not talking about the blue footed kind.

The Save the Boobs Poker Run is held to help the cure for breast cancer. These mammaries are in desperate need and only you can help! (imagine big finger pointing at you).

The ride will begin and end at Hogs & Heifers in Las Vegas. There will be a BBQ, Live Remote from The Point 97.1 FM and other things to be excited about. /grin The event always has a good turn out and supports a worthy cause! Come and show your support.

Nipton History:
(taken from a plaque placed in Nipton on October 10, 1999 by Billy Holcomb Chapter and Queho Posse of the Vincent and Honorable Order of E Clampus Vitus.)

The town of Nipton was born on February 9th, 1905 with the coming of the first train on the newly constructed San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad. Originally called Nippeno Camp after a nearby gold discovery, the name was changed to Nipton when the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad merged with the Untion Pacific circa 1910. For many years, the depot was a cattle-loading for several local ranches including Yates Ranch, The walking Box, and Rock Springs Land and Cattle Co. The town and depot also supplied numerous mines in the area, becoming a social center for the sparse population of the region. Community facilities included a school, post office, voter precinct and several small businesses. Begun as a 20th century railroad depot, Nipton is re-forming into a 21st century gateway to the Mojave National Reserve.

 

 

Directions via I-15:
• Take I-15 South out of Las Vegas towards Los Angeles for 53 Miles entering California
• Take the Nipton Road exit off of I-15 and continue for 0.2 Miles to;
• Turn Left on Nipton Road and continue for 10.3 Miles until you reach Nipton.

 

 

Directions via Searchlight, NV:
• Merge onto US-93 S/US-95 S via the ramp on the LEFT for 21.8 Miles;
• Merge onto US-95 S/VETERANS MEMORIAL HWY toward SEARCHLIGHT/LAUGHLIN/NEEDLES for 36.2 Miles;
• Turn LEFT onto W COTTONWOOD COVE RD/NV-164 until you enter Searchlight, NV
• Start out going WEST on W COTTONWOOD COVE RD/NV-164 toward N BROADWAY ST. Continue to follow NV-164 (Crossing into CALIFORNIA) for 18.6 Miles;
• NV-164 becomes NIPTON RD for 2.6 Miles at which you enter Nipton. 

If you have not seen the calendar or if you have not viewed it lately, you need to go check it out. We have been adding events almost daily but we can not do this alone. One of the great features of the calendar is that YOU are able to add events as well. There is no way that we can keep up with all the events in the SouthWest and this is where you come in. If you know of an event that isn't already listed, all you need to do is click on the "Add an Event/Ride to the Calendar" on the menu at the top of the screen, fill in the blanks and you are done. Once approved your event will be seen by the entire world. It could not be simplier. Really.

The Save the Boobs Poker Run is in two weeks so get those calendars marked. The event is held annually in Las Vegas, NV and this year will be on Sunday March 8th. The poker run will start at Hogs & Heifers, then will head to the Red Rock Harley-Davidson dealership, then over to Mountain Springs Saloon, Pioneer Saloon and the Penthouse Club with the event wrapping up back at Hogs & Heifers. There will be a BBQ and live music from Southern Stue. Entry fee is $30 for riders and $10 for passengers which includes the BBQ. Registration is from 9am to 11am.

Pictures are up for the 5th Annual Bordello Run that was ran yesterday, the pictures can viewed at JasonJenkins.com . The event attracted over 1,000 people with stops at Sheri's Ranch, The Chicken Ranch and ending up at the Short Branch Saloon.

For those that are coming from our previous website, Welcome to our new home! We are pleased that you made the trip over to see us and hope that you stay and take a look around. 

The 2009 Bordello Thunder Run takes place next weekend which is great 1 day event that has become a Las Vegas bikers tradition and happens every February in Southern Nevada, the entertainment capital of the world. The ride attracts 100's of participants from Southern Nevada, Utah, Arizona and California. 
The ride starts out with registration in Las Vegas, then a Blackjack run through scenic Red Rock Canyon recreation area to highway 160 which takes you over Mountain Springs to Pahrump. The first stop for a card is the World Famous Chicken Ranch; the next stop will be at Sheri's Ranch and Resort or other brothels in the area. The girls like to have their picture taken on the bikes or even give you a tour of the different themed private rooms at the brothel. Very interesting! If it's a warm day you may even catch the girls sunning themselves by the pool. The next destination is Crystal, NV where you will find the Nevada Brothel Museum and Miss Kathy's Short Branch Saloon. 

At the Short Branch there will be Live Music, Larry's Famous Steak and Chicken Barbecue, Fun People, and some great Prize Drawings. The event is over about 4pm so you have plenty of time to get back to Vegas before the sun goes down. The entire ride is approximately 185 miles from start to finish. 

A portion of net proceeds from this event are donated to Adaptive Action Sports, Inc., a non-profit organization. AAS helps young people, returning veterans and others who have lost limbs or have other physical challenges, get back into sports, music and arts.

There are two rides this weekend. One is a "Valentines Day Bull Run in Zion" and the other is being hosted by the Soul Brother M/C Club. Check the calendar for more details on either of these events.
